Organizer at Center of McKinney Pool Controversy Uses the Attention to…Launch Modeling Career

"You should never let negative events in your life keep you from pursuing your dreams."

Capitalizing on the national media attention stemming from a viral video of an altercation between police officer and several black youths in McKinney, Texas, the organizer of that contentious pool party has decided to launch her modeling career.

According to her public figure Facebook page, Tatyana Rhodes caught the attention of "celebrity photographer" AKA Tay Photography who traveled from Atlanta to Texas to shoot her professional photos.

"Tatyana Rhodes has always dreamed of being a model and wants to turn the negative attention of the unfortunate McKinney pool party events into a positive jumpstart for her modeling career," the Facebook page states. "As a model, Tatyana is committed to using her exposure and fame to help bring about change in the community as well as show others you should never let negative events in your life keep you from pursuing your dreams."

According to local CBS affiliate KTVT-TV, the news of Rhodes' new endeavor has not been met with positivity across the board.

“She gets a career and the cop loses his,” one person wrote on their Facebook page.

Cpl. Eric Casebolt, the officer who pulled his gun on the teens and wrestled a young bikini-clad girl to the ground during the altercation, resigned June 9 after he had been placed on administrative leave by the department.

At time of publication, Rhodes' page had 23 likes.
