That Horrible Moment When Your Kids Get 'Scary Quiet' and You Find Something Like This Mom Did

"She just stood there, frozen."

A Colorado mom nursing her son felt her older daughter was likely up to no good when it got "scary quiet."

And boy, was she right.

Following her motherly instinct, Victoria Farmer of Aurora, Colorado, put down her son, went to the next room and  found 2-year-old Anistyn naked, except for a diaper, and dipped shoulder to toe in white paint.

Anistyn quickly and quietly dipped herself in white paint, tracking it on the floor in the home her parents were getting ready to sell. (Image source: KDVR-TV)

"I said 'Anistyn,' and she just stood there, frozen, and didn't say anything," Farmer told KMGH-TV of the Tuesday incident.

"She [apparently] got into the bucket and submerged herself," Farmer said.

Farmer told KDVR-TV that she and her husband were painting walls in the home they were preparing to sell. The mother told the news station she tried to close the paint bucket properly the night before, but apparently didn't do a good enough job to thwart the efforts of the 2-year-old.

KDVR has Farmer's original Facebook post that accompanied the photo:

Now that it’s been a few hours I can laugh, but at the time I was about to have a meltdown haha it took nearly two hours to clean. I was nursing Madox in the next room and realized it was scary quiet so I set him down and when I walked in she just stood there like a statue. It looks like she just climbed right in and went for a swim. Cleaning her was the easy part. Cleaning it off the fireplace before it set in was the scary part. Plus it’s a discontinued paint on the fireplace and our house is going on the market in a week so the timing was pretty incredible.

Though Farmer and her sister carried Anistyn to the tub with a rag underneath her dripping body, the toddler had already tracked little white footprints all over the hardwood floor in the home.

Luckily, her mother told the news station that the paint came up "pretty easily," but they're "still cleaning paint off the floor."

Farmer admitted that the viral photograph might make her look "like an irresponsible parent" but she added to KMGH that Anistyn is "just really quick."

Something about this photo had us digging up this classic viral video of two boys who also found themselves getting into a bit of trouble over their antics with paint — check it out here.
