A suspect armed with a hatchet and gun was fatally shot by a police officer inside a movie theater in Antioch, Tennessee, on Wednesday, according to officials.
The Metro Nashville Police Department posted a message on Twitter confirming that the suspect in the active shooter situation at the Nashville-area theater was dead.

Police said one person may have suffered a hatchet wound before the suspect was killed by police. The fire department also said three people were treated for pepper spray exposure.
Though few other details were known, a video posted on Instagram showed a large police presence at the reported scene of the active shooter situation in the Nashville suburb:
Agents with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were reportedly on the scene Wednesday afternoon.

The report of shots fired comes about two weeks after a gunman opened fire inside a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana, during a screening of the film "Trainwreck." Police said John Russell Houser killed two people and wounded nine others before fatally shooting himself.
