Republican presidential candiate Donald Trump tweeted a message to Brit Hume Wednesday night after the Fox News analyst told host Megyn Kelly that it appeared other candidates were gaining ground on him in the polls.

Trump wrote to Hume that he is "in first place by a lot in all polls" and contended that only is he "tied for first place with Ben Carson" in one Iowa poll.
Hume on Wednesday night appeared on "The Kelly File" to provide analysis on the latest numbers.
Kelly noted that Trump has consistently been in first place in the polls, but Hume said the new Monmouth University poll which showed Carson and Trump tied in Iowa indicated other candidates were gaining ground on the frontrunner.
Hume has been a consistent critic of Trump and the real estate tycoon has turned to Twitter often to blast pundits who skewer him. On Tuesday night, Trump questioned why host Bill O'Reilly and Fox News continue to invite Karl Rove to appear as a contributor.
