A Fox News poll released Wednesday shows Donald Trump maintain his frontrunner status for the Republican presidential nomination.

The real estate tycoon was the favorite among 26-percent of Republican primary voters surveyed between September 20-22.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson followed in the second spot at 18-percent, with former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) tied for third place with nine-percent of the vote.

Of note, three candidates in the poll failed to register entirely with voters. Those candidates include Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, former Sen. Rick Santorum and current Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.)

The poll had a sampling error of plus or minus 4.5-percent.
