Large High School Brawl Caught on Video Ends With Security Guard Flat on His Back

Three students were detained following a large brawl in a Detroit high school that was caught on cellphone video, sources with the district told WXYZ-TV.

Detroit Public Schools Police Department is investigating the Wednesday morning incident at East English Village Preparatory Academy, the station said.

The clip showed what appeared to be multiple students fighting and several adults trying to break up the melee — along with a security guard flat on his back afterward who received assistance getting back on his feet.

The school district told WXYZ the security guard wasn't seriously injured.

Student chatter on social media noted homecoming events might be canceled over the brawl, but Detroit public schools wouldn't confirm that with WXYZ or if arrests or discipline have taken place.
