Mike Huckabee Is Asked How Obama Would Have Reacted If Oregon Gunman Had Targeted Muslims. Here's His Answer.

"I do think it is incredibly significant that there was a religious intent and motive in this shooter’s attitude."

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee appeared on "The Steve Malzberg Show" Friday to discuss matters surrounding the Oregon community college mass shooting and gun laws.

After several minutes Malzberg interjected a hypothetical question about President Barack Obama, who hasn't yet addressed reports that the gunman targeted Christians.

"What if the shooter had said, 'Are you a Muslim?' and shot those in the head who were Muslim," the host asked. "Do you think the president would have mentioned that yesterday?"

The former Arkansas governor didn't hesitate.

"Of course he would have," Huckabee replied. "The president always wants to be defensive and tell us there is no such thing as Islamic terrorism. These aren’t religious people even though we all know they are. But when it seems that the target is a Christian, he conveniently just ignores it, denies it or just moves on to something else. I do think it is incredibly significant that there was a religious intent and motive in this shooter’s attitude."

Here's the exchange between Huckabee and Malzberg. The relevant portion begins just after the 4:30 mark:
