See the 'Disgusting' Banner Alabama Fans Hung Prior to Game Against LSU

"We're having a banner weekend."

A sign that reportedly hung, albeit briefly, from an off-campus apartment building has drawn ire from Alabama and Louisiana State University football fans alike.

The sign, circulating on social media, read, "Finish What Katrina Started," with one 'a' drawn as the Alabama logo.

According to Sean Landry, editor-in-chief of the Crimson White, the banner hung at an off-campus house but was taken down.

"UA is appalled that anyone would display a banner with such an inappropriate and offensive statement," the university said in a statement on Twitter. "It’s our understanding that the banner was hung at an off-campus apartment complex and it has been removed."

Others responded to the sign on Twitter as well.

The LSU Tigers play in Tuscaloosa Saturday at 8 p.m.
