Things Get Tense as TV Anchor Relentlessly Presses Democrat to Answer Devastating Question on Syrian Refugees

"That’s illogical!"

Fox Business Network host Stuart Varney interrogated Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) over his support of President Barack Obama’s plan to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees in 2015 and whether or not refugees pose a potential national security risk.

Moulton claimed the bill to pause the refugee program so applicants could be more thoroughly vetted, which was passed by the House on Thursday with a veto-proof majority, makes it easier for Islamic State terrorists to “recruit people here at home.” He also said the government's vetting process is already very strong.

“You think that by letting more in, we de-radicalize? That’s illogical!” Varney rebutted.

The exchange grew particularly tense when Varney repeatedly attempted to get Moulton to state whether or not he would “take responsibility” if “just one” Syrian refugee accepted under the program killed an American.

“If one of those people comes into America that you want to bring here…and one of them kills an American, will you take responsibility for that?” Varney asked.

Moulton dodged the question entirely, instead repeating his claim that slowing the flow of Syrian refugee makes it easier for the Islamic State to recruit in the United States.

“I’ll ask it again,” Varney said. “We bring in these refugees and one of them — just one of them — kills an American, will you take responsibility?”

Rep. Moulton then said he “takes responsibility” for his vote against the refugee bill.
