Trump Spokeswoman Stuns With Four-Word Rebuttal to S.E. Cupp on Proposal to Ban Muslims
December 08, 2015
"So what? They're Muslim!"
That was the four-word rebuttal Donald Trump national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson shot back at conservative pundit S.E. Cupp while defending the real estate mogul's controversial proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S.
Cupp appeared on CNN Tuesday and trashed Trump's plan as "un-American" and "Unconstitutional."
"I don't see a shred of what Donald Trump is suggesting that is conservative by nature," Cupp said. "So I'm not really sure what his supporters are turned on here. He can't deliver on half the promises he's made, because they will either need Congress to go bananas and go crazy or to change the Constitution."
Pierson went after Cupp, claiming Trump's proposal to ban an entire religious group from entering the county was "nothing new" — a remark that earned her a smirk from Cupp. Pierson then claimed those who didn't support Trump's plan were in favor of allowing "insurgents" inside the U.S.
"No one is talking about insurgents!" Cupp quipped. "Who wants insurgents to come over?"
"Yes, from Arab nations," Pierson replied. "You know what? So what? They're Muslim"
That comment irked Cupp even more.
"So what? That's not the America we live in, Pierson!" she said.
