Marco Rubio: Obama Would 'Confiscate Every Gun in America' If He Could

Sen. Marco Rubio claimed Thursday that President Barack Obama is trying to undermine the Second Amendment, and would take away every gun in the U.S. if he could.

"The Second Amendment is not an option. It is not a suggestion, it is a Constitutional right of every American to protect themselves and their families," the Florida senator said in response to a question about gun rights. "I am convinced that if this president could confiscate every gun in America, he would. I am convinced that this president if he could get rid of the Second Amendment he would."

Rubio argued that he knows Obama wants to take away all guns because the president consistently works with the attorney general to undermine the Second Amendment rather than to defend it.

When Fox Business anchor Neil Cavuto pushed back, asking if it's extreme to believe that Obama wants to take away every gun in America, Rubio said: "About every two weeks he holds a press conference talking about how he can't wait to restrict people's access to guns."
