No arrests have been made, but sources reported that both officers were hospitalized after an alleged assault that occurred early Sunday at the Recess Lounge in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood.
After the officers had ordered multiple bottles of champagne, witnesses told WPVI that one of McCoy’s friends grabbed one of the bottles out of a cop’s hands. Then, at around 2:30 a.m., McCoy and his friends reportedly attacked the officers, kicking them, stomping on them and punching them.
A police sergeant who was with the officers walked away uninjured, sources told WPVI.
While McCoy, who used to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, and his friend were not arrested, they are the focus of the investigation.
The Bills released a statement Monday that said: "We are aware of the reports regarding LeSean McCoy and are in the process of gathering more information. We will not provide any further comment at this time."
When asked to comment, McCoy's agent, Drew Rosenhaus declined. The investigation is ongoing.
