Another #Bombshell?': Romney Calls on Trump to Allow NYT to Release Transcript of Off Record Meeting

"#WhatIsHeHiding"

Former Republican presidential nominee continued to be critical of GOP front-runner Donald Trump, calling on the billionaire to authorize the release of a transcript from an off the record meeting he had with The New York Times.

A Monday report indicated that the Times has in its possession an audio tape of Trump revealing his true beliefs on immigration. Sources told BuzzFeed that the billionaire made a comment about the flexibility of his immigration stance.

The Times said it could not release the transcript of the meeting without permission from Trump, since it was an off-the-record meeting.

“If [Trump] wants to call up and ask us to release this transcript, he’s free to do that and then we can decide what we would do,” the newspaper’s editorial page editor told BuzzFeed.

Both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have called on Trump to release the transcript.

Romney's call for increased transparency from Trump came after he also asked the real estate mogul to release his tax returns — something Trump has declined to do, contending it would not be smart since he's under audit by the IRS.
