Huge Mistake': Ben Carson Warns Conservatives Against Third Party Option

"That would hand the election to Hillary Cinton.”

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – Shortly after announcing he had exited the Republican presidential race, famed neurosurgeon Ben Carson told TheBlaze that conservatives should not consider a third party candidate if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee.

"I think that would be a huge mistake," Carson told TheBlaze during a press conference. "I think that would hand the election to Hillary Clinton."

There has been significant talk about a third party constitutional conservative candidate if Trump, who hold liberal views on an array of issues, secure the GOP nomination.

During the press conference, Carson declined to endorse a candidate but seemed to take a subtle shot at Trump when asked who his supporters should back.

"I would recommend that they look and exercise their brain, look at their accomplishments," Carson said. "Look at what they have done. Look at their positions. Are they out there? Are they available? Do they explain in detail what they are talking about? What have they done for America? How do they treat others around them including their family? That should tell you a great deal about them."
