Donald Trump Will Not Participate in Fox News’ Upcoming GOP Debate — Here's Why

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said during a telephone interview on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" Wednesday morning that he will not participate in the upcoming Fox News GOP debate.

"I won't be there, no," Trump said.

Trump said that instead of participating in Monday’s debate in Salt Lake City, he will deliver a "major speech" at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Trump claimed that “nobody even told me about” the debate.

"I thought the last debate on CNN was the last debate, that was going to be it. Nobody told me there were going to be more debates," Trump said. "I think we've had enough debates."

The debate will be moderated by Fox News hosts Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace. Trump has infamously feuded with Kelly and criticized her in a Twitter rant Tuesday evening as “crazy Megyn.”

“Would you consider reconsidering?” host Brian Kilmeade asked.

“I’m not going to do the debate,” Trump replied, adding, “I think we’ve had enough debates.”

Trump said that he told "Fox and Friends" the news first because “this is my group.”

“I love this show, what can I tell you?” he said.
