Florida Representative on Kardashians' 'Vapid' Trip to Havana: 'Haven't the Cuban People Suffered Enough?

"Now, the Kardashians are parachuting into the island to tape their vapid TV show."

As the Kardashian family, of reality TV fame, arrives in Cuba, some are wondering if it really is a good idea for the wealthy American family to be touring around the financially struggling nation.

One Florida representative in particular has some very strong words for the Kardashians "vapid" trip to Havana, where the family will film an episode of their E! reality show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

"I know it's cool for celebrities to go to Cuba, but the Cuban people don't experience the glamorous Havana that is featured on social media," Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) told People magazine. "Far from photo shoots and fruity drinks, everyday Cubans experience a different, sad reality."

Khloé Kardashian, 31, was the first to post a picture of their trip to Cuba via Instagram Wednesday. In the photo, Khloé Kardashian can be seen smoking a cigar along with her sisters Kim Kardashian West, 35, and Kourtney Kardashian, 37.

"Now, the Kardashians are parachuting into the island to tape their vapid TV show," Ros-Lehtinen said. "Haven't the Cuban people suffered enough?"
