CNN Brutalized Over Headline on Lawsuit Filed by Kate Steinle's Family Over Her Murder

"...you make it sound like she slipped and fell on some seaweed."

“Kate Steinle’s family files lawsuit after her death on a San Francisco pier last summer.”

That’s the headline CNN ran on Friday night — and it resulted in some serious backlash from Twitter.

Steinle was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant who was in possession of a stolen government-issued firearm. The suspect, Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, had reportedly been deported five times to Mexico and committed multiple felonies.

The lawsuit filed by Steinle's family seeks unspecified damages for "failures to perform mandatory duties and/or for the unconstitutional and/or negligent acts and/or omissions of their officers, officials, agents and/or employees." The suit specifically names the city and county of San Francisco, former county Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi and the United States
