Critics Hit Democrats With #DemsNeverSat to Point Out Major Issues They Didn’t Protest

"#DemsNeverSat to raise the minimum wage."

As Democrats vowed to "sit in" on the floor of the House of Representatives until Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) would allow a vote on gun control legislation, liberal critics took to Twitter to point out all the things Democrats weren't willing to sit for.

The hashtag "#DemsNeverSat" began trending on Twitter for a short time Wednesday night as users listed numerous issues liberals hold dear but didn't receive quite the same level of devotion from Democrats.

Among the issues they rattled off were the Iraq War, the minimum wage, paid maternity leave, marriage equality, campaign finance reform and police brutality.

Take a look at just some of their tweets:

House Democrats literally sat on the chamber floor in protest of Ryan's refusal to allow a vote on gun legislation. Ryan, who called their actions a "publicity stunt," tried to regain control of the House late Wednesday, but he was drowned out by his Democratic colleagues as they chanted, "No bill, no break."
