U.S. Rapper Arrested on Caribbean Island and Charged for 'Indecent Language'

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis (TheBlaze/AP) — Police in St. Kitts and Nevis say that U.S. rapper 50 Cent and a member of his entourage were detained and charged Saturday night for allegedly using "indecent language" during a performance at the St. Kitts Music Festival.

Sources told TMZ that the rapper had been warned not to use vulgar language during his performance. The DJ reportedly didn't have a clean version of the set, and 50 didn't pull the mic away from his mouth when he shouted, "motherf*****" in front of 40,000 people.

He was arrested shortly after the concert.

Local police said in a statement Sunday that 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, and entourage member Bajar Walter have been released on bail. They are not, however, allowed to leave the Caribbean country pending a Monday morning court appearance, where they will likely be fined for the minor offense.

A representative for 50 Cent told TMZ the rapper was only booked to host the festival, not perform. "For future trips to St. Kitts he will leave the motherf****** in the United States," the rep said.

The same thing happened to rapper DMX in 2003, according to TMZ.
