Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump tweeted, then deleted an attack ad Saturday that featured Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and what some claimed to be a red Star of David with the words, “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!”
CNN’s Jeremy Diamond captured a screenshot of the tweet before it was deleted, and posted it to Twitter:

Trump was quick to post a modified ad containing a red circle instead of the six-point star:

Others, however, were not so quick to forget:

But one person did come to the candidate's defense: Former Trump campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.
Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday, Lewandowski accused Trump critics of "read[ing] into something that's not there." He noted that the six-point star is the same symbol used by sheriffs across the country to represent law enforcement and called the backlash against Trump's the tweet "political correctness run amok."
