Record-Breaking Marijuana Stash Found Hidden in an Oregon Portable Potty

"They stashed their pot in the pot?"

One man, presumably seeking a place to relieve himself, opened up the door of a port-a-potty Wednesday to discover something he most certainly wasn't expecting — a huge stash of marijuana.

The Rogue River Police Department posted images of the surprising find on its Facebook page, saying it's the largest seizure of Mary Jane the department has ever made. Naturally, the post launched a torrent of jokes and sarcastic comments about the pot discovery.

"I specialize in weed eradication and i can help make it disappear as a service to the community," one commenter quipped.

Another wrote, "They stashed their pot in the pot?"

Police Chief Ken Lewis said Thursday the department still had not determined how the marijuana stash got there, or why, according to WLOS-TV. He said the location could be a pick-up point or just a frustrated resident making a statement about the abundance of pot growth in the area. Marijuana growth is very common in southern Oregon due to the outdoor cultivation conditions.

Lewis noted that a public works employee checked the portable toilet three hours before the drug find, and it was empty. Bystanders at a nearby tennis court said they saw no suspicious activity.
