At least three women are dead and one man suffered life-threatening injuries after a shooting in a mall in Burlington, Washington, a local report indicated.

According to Sgt. Mark Francis, a Washington state patrol spokesman, police are in search of at least one shooter.

Officers are searching all of the stores in Burlington's Cascade Mall, which is located about an hour north of Seattle, for a man wearing gray who was last seen walking toward Interstate 5 from the mall. Francis said it wasn't immediately known if there was more than one gunman involved.

Francis tweeted that survivors are being transported to a nearby church and is asking all others to avoid coming toward the shopping complex. First responders have entered the mall to attend to injured patrons, he said. The mall was evacuated around 8:30 p.m.

The Cascade Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Burlington, Washington that opened in 1990, according to the mall's website. It features J.C. Penney, TJ Maxx, and Macy's stores, among other stores, restaurants and a movie theater.
