Watch: Morning Mika scolds Democrats who are raising a stink about FBI Director Comey
November 02, 2016
Mika Brzezinski, the liberal co-host of MSNBC's “Morning Joe,” criticized Democrats who are speaking out against FBI Director James Comey for his handling of the investigation into Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s private email servers.
Early Tuesday morning, while discussing the matter with co-host Joe Scarborough and Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Brzezinski interjected to bring up the harsh criticism Comey has received from Democrats who previously praised him for being “a man of integrity.”
“You’ve said that Comey should not have opened his mouth, and a lot of people are saying that — and that he broke every protocol and that he went off the reservation,” Brzezinski said, before adding, “The only thing that that makes me think is that you’re actually reinforcing the premise that there’s something there. Because this is a man of great integrity according to everybody who works for Hillary Clinton on down.”
She told McCaskill, “He’s not partisan, I mean look at his role in the Ashcroft story years ago, and yet he broke protocol. So doesn’t it lead you to believe that maybe there’s a problem?”
McCaskill dodged the question, responding that, as the head of the FBI, Comey had unbridled power to ruin people’s lives and that he should remain focused on facts.
