Megyn Kelly calls Hillary Clinton 'chicken

Fox News host Megyn Kelly railed against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for not ever appearing on her show "The Kelly File" throughout the entire 2016 presidential campaign season.

Kelly spoke with Lanny Davis, former advisor to Bill Clinton, about his WikiLeaks email to John Podesta in which he encouraged Clinton to appear on Kelly's show. Davis told Podesta that although he knew it would instinctively be viewed negatively, he thought the sit down would be a tough but fair interview. He added that it had the potential to be a ratings and media bonanza.

Kelly finished reading the email and said in a lighthearted manner, "And like a bunch of dopes, they rejected your advice."

Davis responded, "Well first of all, you're tough but you always let me answer your questions. And that's why I thought it was a great idea." He continued, "She would have done great on your show and you would have asked her tough questions about the emails, and the servers, and everything else and she would have done great and hit home runs — in my opinion — on every question you asked."

"You know what, I've always said she can handle me," Kelly told Davis. "The bottom line is, honestly, she was too chicken to come on — that's the truth. No, I asked her for months and months and months through everybody possible. Why else wouldn't she be here?"

She went on, "She's trying to paint herself as some champion of women, and what does she do? She doesn't even sit down with one of the top female journalists in the country, at least, and certainly here on the Fox News Channel. One of the only two women in all of primetime in cable news, pretended that we didn’t exist, told us over and over again, ‘Wait until the general, wait until the general, wait until this, wait until that.' Never came. That’s the truth.”
