Planned Parenthood supporters donate to organization in Mike Pence’s name
November 14, 2016
Planned Parenthood supporters have launched a social media campaign urging people to donate to the organization in Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s name, characterizing the campaign as a protest of Pence’s pro-life position on abortion.
Planned Parenthood acknowledged the donations on Twitter, saying they have also received donations in Hillary Clinton’s name. Planned Parenthood endorsed Clinton’s failed bid for the White House.
Pence, who had a staunchly pro-life voting record during his time in Congress and who signed pro-life legislation during his time as governor of Indiana, has said he wants to send Roe v. Wade “to the ash heap of history.”
Pence’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
