Trump trolls his opposition, wishes a Happy New Year to his 'enemies' who 'lost so badly

President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to issue his followers a happy New Year — including his "many enemies."

"Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don't know what to do. Love," Trump tweeted Saturday morning.

Tweeting messages like that — where he mentions "losers" or "enemies" — has been a staple of Trump's since he began using Twitter, though they have not been as frequent since he began his run for the White House last June.

His general Twitter usage, however, is still very frequent, with Trump personally posting the majority of the messages.

On Friday, the president-elect caused a small uproar after he tweeted praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin after Putin said he would not respond to President Barack Obama's sanctions against Russia with sanctions against the U.S.

The incoming White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, has said that Trump will continue to use Twitter as president, given that it is a direct line of communication between Trump and the public.
