President-elect Donald Trump claimed today that his administration has "the highest IQ of any Cabinet ever."
Trump, who is set to be officially sworn in as the nation's 45th president Friday, made the remarks Thursday with a number of congressional lawmakers, as well as several of his Cabinet nominees, during an inauguration week luncheon at his Washington, D.C., hotel.
After welcoming by name several of his picks currently undergoing Senate confirmation, the president-elect continued by making a bold claim.
“I’ll tell you what. We have, by far, the highest IQ of any cabinet ever," Trump said.
Many of Trump's Cabinet picks have been criticized for lacking experience in the areas in which they will now be heading. Most recently, Trump's energy secretary nominee, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, faced widespread criticism after a New York Times article claimed Thursday that Perry didn't know what the energy secretary even does when he accepted the position.

Following the Thursday afternoon luncheon, Trump traveled to Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns before traveling back to the National Mall for the inaugural concert. The president-elect was also set to deliver a speech Thursday night at the Lincoln Memorial to thank all of his supporters and his family.
