Chelsea Clinton comes to Barron Trump’s defense: Let him ‘be a kid’

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton came to Barron Trump’s defense on Sunday after he was mocked by some social media users following his father’s inauguration.

“Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does — to be a kid,” Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, wrote on Twitter.

The daughter of President Donald Trump’s former rival also criticized the president in the tweet, adding that, “Standing up for every kid also means opposing [Trump’s] policies that hurt kids.”

Katie Rich, a writer for Saturday Night Live, recently made headlines for tweeting that the 10-year-old will become the country’s “first homeschool shooter.”

According to Fox News, NBC has yet to comment on Rich’s tweet. She has reportedly deleted her account.

Barron Trump is not homeschooled — he and his mother, first lady Melania Trump, will reportedly remain in New York so he can finish his current school year.

Republicans and Democrats alike condemned the attack on the 10-year-old.

Members of the media took issue with the comment as well.
