A Democratic senator says the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's fundraising emails are "bumming" people out.
Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz tweeted Monday in response to an email from the DCCC: "Who writes these?" The DCCC is the official campaign arm of Democrats in the House of Representatives.
"They really need to stop bumming people out. In order to win we must communicate that we BELIEVE," Schatz wrote.

Schatz referred to an email sent out by the DCCC, which included the ominous subject line "kiss all hope goodbye."
"We're nervous. Republicans just had their best day yet — and turned out more voters in Georgia than Democrats did on Friday," the email read.
A special election to replace Tom Price was scheduled Tuesday for Georgia's 6th Congressional District. Price, who President Donald Trump tapped to become health and human services secretary, held the seat from 2005-2017. The seat has been occupied by Republicans since the 1970s.
But the suburban Atlanta district race is surprisingly close as voters head to the polls. Documentary filmmaker Jon Ossoff, who is 30 and has never held public office before, has attracted national media attention. His Democratic congressional campaign has raised millions of dollars.
According to early vote tallies, however, that didn't appear to be enough to put Ossoff over the required 50 percent threshold to replace Price in Congress. The DCCC email noted that more Republicans than Democrats had turned out in early voting as of Friday.
"It's a crushing blow in our efforts to hand Trump a MASSIVE loss," the email read.
Trump has taken an active role in campaigning for the Republicans running for the 6th Congressional District seat, saying in a Tuesday morning tweet storm that Ossoff would be a "disaster" in Congress.
The super Liberal Democrat in the Georgia Congressioal race tomorrow wants to protect criminals, allow illegal immigration and raise taxes!— Donald J. Trump (@Donald J. Trump)1492435863.0
With eleven Republican candidates running in Georgia (on Tuesday) for Congress, a runoff will be a win. Vote "R" for lower taxes & safety!— Donald J. Trump (@Donald J. Trump)1492481918.0
Democrat Jon Ossoff would be a disaster in Congress. VERY weak on crime and illegal immigration, bad for jobs and wants higher taxes. Say NO— Donald J. Trump (@Donald J. Trump)1492511939.0
Republicans must get out today and VOTE in Georgia 6. Force runoff and easy win! Dem Ossoff will raise your taxes-very bad on crime & 2nd A.— Donald J. Trump (@Donald J. Trump)1492512379.0
The DCCC fundraising email continued: "If we don't get every Democrat out to vote tomorrow, we can kiss our chances of winning goodbye."
