Will Ferrell crashed Samantha Bee's WHCD party in hilarious fashion — and pulled out an old character

Comedian Will Ferrell crashed Samantha Bee's "Not the White House Correspondents' Dinner" party in Washington D.C., on Saturday, where the actor reprised his famed impression of former President George W. Bush.

"How to do you like me now," Ferrell begins after he walked out to the official presidential music while taking a drag from a cigarette.

"The prodigal son returns," he added. "Quick presidential update: I'm doing quite well, thank you. History is proving to be kinder to me than many of you thought."

Ferrell's point was that Bush was bashed and bashed during his years in the White House and then bashed even more by his successor, former President Barack Obama. But now, Democrats have a new enemy: President Donald Trump.

Ferrell, as Bush, also went after the media for asking him "gotcha questions" during his presidency, offering examples like "Why are you going to war?" and "Why did you not respond to Hurricane Katrina?"

"I just wish someone had told me all I had to do was say ‘fake news’ over and over and over again," Ferrell added.

Ferrell then went on to bash Fox News using longtime member of the White House press corps Helen Thomas, who died in 2013.

"Helen Thomas asked tougher questions as a dead woman than any man at Fox News can ask today," he said.

Ferrell, poking fun of Bush's recent undertaking of painting portraits, also mocked Trump for his skin color when showing off the latest portrait in his "Portraits of Not Courage" series.

"As you can see, I exhausted my palette of yellows and oranges. It’s clear that he has an unnatural color to him, it’s a strange hue, it’s not really orange or yellow. I have a new name for that color, they should just call it 'Mar-a-Lago,'" Ferrell joked.

In the end, Ferrell, as Bush, said he has three words of advice for Trump given his now eight years of life outside of the White House: "Eat. A. Salad," which of course is a quip referring to Trump's love of fast food.

Ferrell's impression of Bush was a staple during his time on "Saturday Night Live," where he has revived the character many times since leaving the show and since Bush left office in 2009.
