Rush Limbaugh has an interesting theory on Trump's criticisms of Sessions — and it involves Red Bull

Rush Limbaugh, nationally syndicated conservative radio show host, voiced his support for "beleaguered" Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Wednesday, doubling down on previous comments defending Sessions from President Donald Trump's tirades.

During the Wednesday airing of his radio show, Limbaugh lauded Sessions for his nose-to-the-grindstone dedication to conservative issues as well as his unwavering loyalty to Trump, despite Trump's Twitter protests.

Initially calling Sessions "exactly the kind of guy Trump needs," Limbaugh mused over whether or not the president's condemnation and riding of Sessions should actually be taken in a different direction.

Limbaugh explained, “Maybe it’s an effort to put a fire under Sessions to make him more aggressive on stopping the leaks and sanctuary cities, but he’s already doing that! I mean, Sessions is really kicking butt on the whole Trump immigration agenda.”

Discussing Sessions' loyalties to the Trump administration at length, Limbaugh added, “Sessions is the most loyal endorser that Trump had. Sessions’ value to Donald Trump is incalculable, as is his loyalty to Donald Trump, as is the seriousness with which he approaches his job as attorney general.”

“He’s the exact kind of guy Trump needs there, and I have to imagine that Trump knows that," Limbaugh said. "Something about all of this is just off. Maybe Sessions just needs some Red Bull. Who knows?”

Trump, so far, has publicly lambasted Sessions at least three times in the last week.

Last Wednesday, Trump took down the attorney general in a New York Times interview, where he said, “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else.”

“Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which frankly I think is very unfair to the president,” Trump continued.

Doubling down on his remarks in the same interview, Trump reiterated, “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild word — to the president.”

On Monday and Tuesday, the president posted new tweets about Sessions.

On Monday, Trump tweeted, “So why aren’t the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crookey Hillarys [sic] crimes & Russia relations?”

Tuesday, Trump wrote, “Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!”
