This is Planned Parenthood's latest ploy to raise money for the org — it involves tampons

Planned Parenthood hopes to see a boost in donations in Colorado, and a local art gallery in the state has planned to hold a silent auction featuring "reproductive art" — said to include a pink chandelier made of tampons — with proceeds to benefit the organization.

According to the Daily Camera, the Colorado Chapter of the National Women’s Caucus for the Arts (WCA) will host the auction, which is titled “Make Money For Planned Parenthood” and will display reproductive-themed artwork courtesy of several WCA members from Aug. 19 to Sept. 15.

“We do have one gal making a pink chandelier with tampons hanging off of it,” Linda Gleitz, a member of the WCA, told the Camera. “It’s fabulous.”

About Planned Parenthood, Gleitz said, “I feel passionately about Planned Parenthood. ... If we can make a little bit of money for Planned Parenthood, it’s worth it.”

"I went there when I was younger," Gleitz revealed. "I know my daughter and a lot of her friends use that for health care."

Gleitz continued to advocate for Planned Parenthood in the interview and sang its praises for the health care services they provide.

"You know health care is so uncertain right now and you know if 23 million people get kicked off of their coverage and there's no Planned Parenthood, a lot of people are going to go out without reproductive health care," Gleitz said. "It's definitely increased the urgency, as have the words of our president, whose name I cannot say."

An event page for the gala reads:

Since the new administration has become an unfortunate reality six Planned Parenthood locations have closed down in Boulder County alone. This is a small drop in a big bucket attempt to raise some funds for them.

Poetry readings and music at all three events. Since the new administration has become an unfortunate reality six Planned Parenthood locations have closed down in Boulder County alone. This is a small drop in a big bucket attempt to raise some funds for them.
