A Trump-themed merchandise store in Show Low, Arizona was vandalized Wednesday night. When owners of "The Trumped Store" showed up to work Thursday morning, they discovered one of their banners desecrated, as well as the side of their building, KTTV reported.
"I can see through our window, our huge Trump store banner outside, black markings," Steven Slaton, owner of the store, told KTTV. "I said that's weird, so I went outside and went around, and soon as I saw it, I said 'Aw crap'. Been vandalized with 'Nazi scum' on it."
According to Slaton, a good Samaritan bought paint and helped him clean up the mess by the time he arrived to the store.
This isn't the first time the store has had trouble, Slaton told KTTV.
"We had three irate liberals who came in, and we escorted them out and told them to leave our property," Slaton said. "This is private property, or we'd call the police."
The store originally served as a campaign location during the 2016 election. Once the election was over, it was converted into a Trump-themed merchandise store.
The couple who own the store shared pictures of the vandalism on Facebook:
Police have an ongoing investigation and the store's owner is currently checking with neighboring businesses to see if there is any surveillance footage of the criminals.
Slaton is taking extra precautions to protect his business moving forward.
"Probably be staying in the store for a while to see if anyone's gonna come back, number one," he said. "We've got some people who are going to come in and advise us on particular camera systems."
