While the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Redskins tried to show unity during the national anthem before their Monday Night Football game, fans reacted negatively to what a few players did to protest.
According to sports journalists, not one Redskins player knelt or sat, while many locked arms in unity.
"The Redskins all stood for the National Anthem , one week after seven kneeled," tweeted John Keim of ESPN.
"No #Redskins players kneeling during the anthem. Many linking arms/grabbing shoulder pads," said Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post.
Two Chiefs players sat during the anthem.
Many on social media excoriated the players who protested during the nation anthem.

But on the other side, many pointed out that it appeared disrespectful to the anthem for fans of the Chiefs to yell "Chiefs" instead of "brave" at the end of the song, a tradition at their home games.
The Chiefs won the game, 29-20, to remain unbeaten at 4-0.
