Roseanne Barr got a phone call from President Trump - here's what he told her

President Donald Trump took notice of the unbelievable ratings the revival of "Roseanne" had this week, and called the show's famous star to congratulate her.

Here's what he talked to Barr about

"Well it was pretty exciting, I'll tell you that much," Roseanne Barr said to George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s "Good Morning America." "It was just very sweet of him to congratulate us."

“We just kind of had a private conversation but we talked about a lot of things and you know, he’s just happy for me,” Barr explained.

“I’ve known him for many years and he’s done a lot of nice things for me over the years," she added. "And it was just a friendly conversation about working, and television, and ratings."

"He really understands ratings, and how they measure things," she concluded.

Barr, who has been an outspoken supporter of the president, wrote her character to be also pro-Trump.

Watch Roseanne talk about their conversation here:

The show garnered an enormous viewership, with an average audience of 18.1 million viewers, and a 5.1 rating in a key demographic (adults ages 18 to 49).

'It was about us!'

Trump applauded the show during a speech on Thursday in Ohio. “Look at Roseanne. Look at her ratings,” he said.

“I got a call from [Hollywood producer] Mark Burnett,” Trump explained. "He said, ‘Donald, I called just to say hello and to tell you, did you see 'Roseanne’s' ratings?’"

"I said, ‘Mark, how big were they?'" he continued.

"'They were unbelievable, over 18 million people' — and it was about us!" he said.
