Billy Graham site counters Walmart’s 'Impeach 45' tees with inspiring product of its own

The Billy Graham Organization website has launched a clever campaign to counter the efforts of "Impeach 45" product manufacturers with a product of their own: a "Pray for 45" T-shirt for just $15.99.

Why 'Pray for 45' anyway?

Walmart found itself under heavy fire on Tuesday after news that the store's online website sold apparel that read "Impeach 45."

According to a Tuesday report by Fox News, the company selling the “Impeach 45” merchandise is called Old Glory, and Old Glory apparently isn’t the only manufacturer of Trump impeachment merchandise. Fox News reported that three other companies featured on Walmart’s online marketplace also sold similar goods.

A spokesperson for Walmart told the news organization that the store would be pulling such merchandise from its website, and noted that third-party retailers were behind the sales of the shirt.

"These items were sold by third-party sellers on our open marketplace, and were not offered directly by Walmart. We’re removing these types of items pending review of our marketplace policies," a Walmart spokesperson said.

So what are the details of the Graham shirt?

The T-shirt, which says "Pray for 45," also features a reference to scripture from 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and is designed with red, white, and blue graphics on a plain white tee.

The shirt's description reads, "The Bible says to pray for 'all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.' (1 Timothy 2:2, NKJV). Wear this t-shirt as a reminder to lift up our president in prayer."

The Rev. Franklin Graham also shared a Facebook post about the shirts on Tuesday.

He wrote, "Walmart was in the news for selling a t-shirt online that promotes 'IMPEACH 45.' They’re referring to President Donald J. Trump. That brought about a boycott against them, and rightfully so. I’m glad that they’ve now removed the shirts from their online store 'pending review' — that’s a good move on their part."
