So-called Statue of Liberty climber bashes America: Motherf*****s, fascist, KKK, drug addicts

An immigration activist who scaled the base of the Statue of Liberty on July 4 announced a profanity-faced, anti-America “song” on Friday during a news conference outside a New York City court building.

Therese Patricia Okoumou was in court for a hearing on criminal charges she faces for climbing on the national monument.

What did she say?

“I placed myself at risk for the truth and who cannot speak for themselves,” Okoumou said. “This administration is an abomination. On the other hand, I took a chance, on Independence Day, to put a spotlight on the crimes committed against migrant children.”

Okoumou screamed, “America!” three times and announced that she “made a song.”

“America, you mother f*****s,” she shouted. “You drug addicts! You KKK! You fascist USA.”

Then she repeated it.

Okoumou wore a green dress that stated, “I really care, why won’t u? Be best.” across the back. The dress was fashioned after the green jacket worn by Melania Trump that read, “I really don’t care, do u?” The first lady wore her jacket during a trip to an immigration detention center. It was later announced that Trump's jacket was intended as a jab at the mainstream media.

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino ripped into the spectacle during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

“They're the anti-anti-communists,” Bongino said. “They're against us. Everything we stand for, they're against,” he said, referring to people on the left. “Whatever that was, that speech right there, that is who the radical far left is.”

Okoumu’s July 4 demonstration caused the temporary shut-down of Statue of Liberty after it was evacuated. Okoumu allegedly sat at lady liberty’s right foot and ignored demands to come down.

The stunt led Manhattan federal prosecutors to charge her with trespassing, interference with government agency functions, and disorderly conduct, the New York Post reported. If convicted, she faces up to a year-and-a-half in prison.

Why are prosecutors seeking prison time?

Prosecutors maintain that she deserves prison time because she caused a mass evacuation of Liberty Island and posed a safety risk to New York City police officers who retrieved her, according to reports.

Okoumou, a resident of Staten Island, told investigators she was part of a group protest organized by Rise and Resist NYC to protest the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

Less than an hour before she scaled Lady Liberty, activists displayed a banner on Liberty Island that read: “Abolish ICE,” according to reports.
