Symone Sanders, former Bernie Sanders presidential spokeswoman, and CNN commentator, offered a bizarre claim about what was really to blame for the murder of Mollie Tibbetts.
"This is toxic masculinity"
The disappearance of Mollie Tibbetts made national news but ended in tragedy when a month later when police said that an illegal alien admitted killing her. Sanders offered a bizarre response to the murder.
Mollie Tibbetts was murdered b/c she told a man to leave her alone while she was jogging. Her murderer happens to be undocumented. This isn’t about border security. This is about toxic masculinity. Mollie Tibbetts lost her life b/c a man couldn’t take her saying no. Full stop.

"Mollie Tibbetts was murdered b/c she told a man to leave her alone while she was jogging," Sanders tweeted.
"Her murderer happens to be undocumented," she explained. "This isn’t about border security. This is about toxic masculinity. Mollie Tibbetts lost her life b/c a man couldn’t take her saying no. Full stop."
While President Donald Trump and his allies have made the Tibbetts murder an exemplar of the dangers of unmitigated illegal immigration, Sanders thought that a more rational response was to blame the nebulous concept of "toxic masculinity."
"Her murderer actually might not even be undocumented," she claimed in a second tweet. "Regardless it is problematic for people to characterize an entire community based off the actions of one person. The majority of mass shootings in America are carried out by white men. So are we going to round them all up?..."
Sanders was referring to the confusion around the immigration status of Cristhian Bahena Rivera, the suspect who led police to the remains of Tibbetts. He was reported to be illegally in the United States, but the company that employed him said that his legal status had been approved by E-Verify. Later the company said they don't use the E-Verify system.
"That logic is asinine, archaic and flawed," Sanders continued. "I’d love if we could have a real conversation about how women’s lives are literally in danger because some men do not know how to check their egos. How many more women have to die before we can address this?..."

"Lest we continue to defile the life of #MollieTibbets with racist garbage some folks think is politically expedient that does nothing to address the root cause of the issue," she concluded. "Just stop."
Sanders appraisal of the real culprit of the case was applauded by many on the left from social media.
"We gotta get more Republicans."
President Trump spoke about the death of Tibbetts during his rally in Charleston, West Virginia, Tuesday.
“You heard about today with the illegal alien coming in very sadly from Mexico, and you saw what happened to that incredible beautiful young woman,” Trump said. “It should have never happened. Illegally in our country.”
“We’ve had a huge impact,” Trump continued. “But the laws are so bad. The immigration laws are such a disgrace, we’re getting them changed, but we gotta get more Republicans. We have to get.”
