CNS News reported that a Tempe, Arizona, gun store owner decided to run what he called "Beto Specials" the day after the Democratic debate and ended up selling out of both AR-15s and AK-47s that same day.
Alpha Dog Firearms owner Matt Boggs told The HolloNet in an interview that he wasn't impressed with O'Rourke's plan to take guns out of the hands of Americans and decided to push the sale of guns even further.
"I saw the comments that he made, and I was kinda like, 'You know what: the Hell with this guy,'" he said.
"Beto Specials" on AR-15s and AK-47s popped up on the store's Facebook page that day. The posting said:
Beto O'Rourke said "hell yes we're taking your AR's". Well Beto, we're discounting AR15's to such a low price that EVERY AMERICAN can afford one. How about the low low price of just $349.99? Yeah, that works. Available online only. Go to www.alphadogfirearmsaz.com and look for all our AR15 and AK47 deals under the BETO SPECIALS tab. Deals and discounts will be added fresh all day!
Boggs' announcement went viral and required a follow-up posting later that same afternoon revealing that the deals had all been claimed and 200 rifles had been sold in less than four hours. The update read:
UPDATE: SOLD OUT. More deals will be on the website soon. Y'all broke our internet today!!!
The gun store later promised that though the deal had sold out, the store would be working hard to get some more deals together. Another Facebook post read:
Our $349.99 AR deal sold out in less than 4 hours. We're trying to process the orders and work on getting more special deals for our good friend gun grabber Beto.

'Hell, yes,' we're going to take your guns
ABC News debate moderator David Muir prompted O'Rourke's remarks during last week's debate.
"Some on the stage have suggested a voluntary buy-back for guns in this country," he said to O'Rourke. "You have gone further. You said, quote, 'Americans who own AR-15s and AK-47s will have to sell them to the government, all of them.' You know that critics call this confiscation. Are you proposing taking away their guns and how would this work?"
O'Rourke responded in the affirmative.
"I am, if it's a weapon that was designed to kill people on a battlefield. If the high impact, high velocity, when it hits your body, shreds everything inside of your body because it was designed to do that so you would bleed to death on a battlefield and not be able to get up and kill one of our soldiers," he explained. "When we see that being used against children and in Odessa [Texas], I met the mother of a 15-year-old girl who was shot by an AR-15 and that mother watched her bleed to death over the course of an hour because so many other people were shot by that AR-15 in Odessa, there weren't enough ambulances to get to them in time."
More forcefully, he added, "Hell, yes, we're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We're not going to allow it to be used against a fellow Americans anymore."
