A New Mexico Burger King franchise acted swiftly after one of its employees reportedly drew a picture of a pig on a police officer's burger.

Fast-food joint fired at least five employees in connection with the incident, which took place last week.

A Clovis, New Mexico, police officer ordered a burger at the restaurant during a workday break while he was in uniform last week.

When he received his food order, Officer Timo Rosenthal noticed that his burger was wrapped in paper with a pig drawn on it. He also said that the burger was burned and of poor quality. Rosenthal shared a photo of the offending drawing on social media, where it went viral.

He captioned the post, "Well, while on lunch break (and in uniform) I ordered food at Burger King and received this. The patties were burnt and the burger was of very poor quality. Guess that was the last time I ate at Burger King in Clovis, NM."

Over the photo, Rosenthal wrote, "When you order your food in uniform."

So what did the local Burger King say about the incident?

The Burger King franchise wasted no time in firing those connected to the incident after learning about what happened, according to KRQE-TV.

The Burger King company issued a statement condemning the employees' actions, apologizing for the incident, and making clear that it does not condone such treatment of its customers

Despite the apology, Rosenthal said that he has no plans to go back to the restaurant.

The company extended its apology to the greater law enforcement community in a statement to Fox News.
