Daredevil climber who posted photos, videos of his high-altitude exploits is dead after falling over 700 feet from Hong Kong building

A daredevil climber who posted photos and videos of his high-altitude exploits fell over 700 feet to his death from a Hong Kong building last week.

What are the details?

Remi Lucidi — aka “Remi Enigma” — fell 721 feet from Tregunter Tower on Thursday, the Telegraph reported.

Lucidi — a 30-year-old who called himself a photographer based in Hong Kong on his Instagram bio — scaled structures around the world and captured selfies of his climbs, the outlet said.

The Telegraph, citing media reports, said Lucidi arrived at the building at 7:30 p.m. and told a security guard he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor — but the resident he named has since denied knowing him.

Closed-circuit TV video caught Lucidi taking an elevator to the 49th floor and then the stairs to the 68th floor before he forced open the rooftop door, the Telegraph said.

The outlet, citing the South China Morning Post, said a building worker saw Lucidi knocking on the outside of a window on the 68th floor, which may have meant he was trapped and needed help.

The Guardian reported that the worker was suspicious and ignored him, after which Lucidi eventually moved on.

Police later received a call from security about a gas leak but found a man’s body on an apartment patio, the Guardian said, adding that Lucidi's fall apparently broke a gas pipe.

Police said following an initial investigation that they believe Lucidi fell from a ledge, the Guardian reported, adding that no suicide note was found.

His final Instagram post went up a week ago — a nighttime photo of the Hong Kong skyline from across rooftops taken from Times Square in downtown Causeway Bay, the Telegraph said.

Comments on the post are mixed. Some criticized Lucidi's poor judgment, while others praised him for living life on the edge: "Bro went out doing what he loved! He lived his life fully. Not many can say that,” one supporter said.
