Hillary Clinton says Trump is an 'illegitimate' president who is 'obsessed' with her
September 30, 2019
She still can't admit defeat
Hillary Clinton insisted in an interview that aired Sunday that President Donald Trump is "an illegitimate president" who is "obsessed" with her — and even suggested the president lacks a conscience.
Speaking alongside her daughter, Chelsea, on "CBS Sunday Morning," Clinton, like she has done so often since losing to Trump in 2016, insisted that Trump did not win a legitimate election.
"I believe he knows he's an illegitimate president. He knows. He knows that there were a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out the way it did," Clinton said. "It was like applying for a job and getting 66 million letters of recommendation, and losing to a corrupt human tornado.
"I don't know we'll ever know everything that happened, but clearly we know a lot and are learning more every day, and history will probably sort it all out," she continued. "So, of course, he's obsessed with me. And I believe that it's a guilty conscience, in so much as he has a conscience."
Clinton did admit narrow responsibility for her 2016 election loss, though for only "those parts of it that I should."
Later in the interview, Clinton endorsed the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry against Trump, claiming the president used his position to "extort a foreign government for his own political purposes," and predicted Trump will lose his bid for reelection.
"I believe that there were many funny things that happened in my election that will not happen again," she said.
