'Take Our Border Back' convoy heads to southern states to protest Biden admin's 'wide open' borders

A multi-state convoy of Americans fed up with the Biden administration's "wide open" border policies is currently headed to southern states to "shed light" on the migrant crisis.

The "Take Our Border Back" convoy describes itself as a "coalition of concerned Americans from across the nation."

"This is a lawful, peaceful gathering of concerned Americans," a January press release from the group stated. "The goal is simple ~ to shed light on the obvious dangers posed by wide open Southern borders."

The coalition also aims to "request all laws of our U.S. Constitution be immediately upheld," "call for immediate action to secure our borders before irreversible serious consequences befall our nation," and put an end to drug and human trafficking.

The convoy is welcoming all "active and retired law enforcement and military, Veterans, elected officials, business owners, ranchers, truckers, bikers, media, and LAW ABIDING, freedom-loving Americans" to join the protest.

"Uniting 'We the People' in our resolute stand to send a PEACEFUL, LAWFUL, and clear message to all city, state, and federal politicians & immigration enforcement officials who are enabling tens of thousands of illegal entrants, criminals and known terrorists from over 160 countries world-wide to cross daily into our country along our southern border," the press release continued.

According to the group's website, the convoy kicked off in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Monday morning and stopped off in Jacksonville, Florida, that evening. On Tuesday, the group set off to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and plans to head to Dripping Springs, Texas. After hosting a pep rally in Dripping Springs on Thursday, the convoy will continue to Eagle Pass, Texas, and Yuma, Arizona. The group also plans to host rallies in Yuma, Eagle Pass, and San Ysidro, California.

On Tuesday, President Biden (D) told reporters, "I've done all I can do" regarding the crisis at the southern border.

"Just give me the power. Give me the border patrol. Give me the people. The judges. Give me the people who can stop this and make it work right," he added.

In December, the southern border experienced more than 302,000 migrant encounters, the highest on record, according to Customs and Border Protection reporting. From October through December, there were over 785,000 encounters.

Last week, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton denied the Biden administration's demands to allow federal agents to access a border park in Eagle Pass, Blaze News previously reported.

"As I said before, this office will continue to defend Texas's efforts to protect its southern border against every effort by the Biden Administration to undermine the State's constitutional right of self-defense," Paxton stated.

"Your request is hereby denied," he told the Biden administration.
