Video: Former NFL player Sergio Brown gets physical with Mexican officers on plane, sent back to US to face murder charges

Cellphone video footage captured former NFL player Sergio Brown seemingly fighting with officers who were attempting to extradite him back to the U.S. from Mexico City.

The video in question was reportedly captured on the tarmac in Mexico City just before the plane was set to take off. Brown was reportedly spotted partying in Mexico shortly after his mother's death, according to Fox News.

Brown mysteriously disappeared after his mother's body was discovered in a creek in Illinois, setting off an investigation and search for where he could have been.

The video recently shared on social media seemed to suggest that Brown claimed that the authorities were "kidnapping," which ultimately resulted in him shoving one of the officers.

He can be heard saying, "I have my passport. Why are they grabbing me? They're kidnapping me again." He goes on to say, "This is a kidnapping. They're in uniform."

At one point during the video, Brown can be heard saying that he had plans to get to Colombia, and that is when he shoved one of the officers. He goes on to say that "[t]his is a kidnapping. Cameras please! Kidnapping," he yells again, before going on to say that "this is criminal confinement."

Several times throughout the incident, Brown can be heard saying that he should not be going to Tijuana when his flight was supposed to be en route to Colombia. However, Mexican authorities were attempting to get him to Tijuana in order to hand him off to the U.S. authorities to face murder charges for his mother's death.

Brown had apparently been missing for a month, and he posted on his Instagram account that the death of his mother was fake news, per KFMB-TV. It was after that post, earlier this month, that a video was posted, showing Brown dancing and partying in Mexico.

The altercation on the plane took an hour and a half, with a woman claiming to be a doctor on the flight asking Brown if she could get him a glass of water to calm him down. The incident eventually calmed, and Brown was taken to Tijuana, where he was arrested on Tuesday.

Brown is sitting in a San Diego jail, with no bail set. He has apparently waived his right to an extradition hearing, according to KFMB-TV. The authorities have been given 30 days to transport him back to Illinois to face murder charges in the death of his mother.

The last time Brown played in the NFL was in 2016.
