Woman proudly hangs 'a giant glowing d**k' on her roof as a Christmas decoration

'People think it's hilarious'

A woman's naughty Christmas light display is raising eyebrows in her Lenexa, Kansas, neighborhood.

"Santa's going to see more than a chimney on the roof of one Lenexa home when he flies in on his sleigh," WDAF-TV reported as it panned to a blurred out presentation of the decoration, which took 60 feet of Christmas lights to create.

"What do you think it looks like?" the station asked two neighbors, a husband and wife, who had yet to see it.

"Well, it looks like a penis," Marcelo Vergara bluntly states as his wife chuckled out loud. "A giant lit up penis."

Evidently, the display had not escaped the attention of other neighbors, who were turned off by it and wanted it removed.

"Well, it's certainly a statement," Vergara continued. "I don't know to what but probably not appropriate for the neighborhood."

"I don't know what I would've done if I would've driven [by] … I probably would have wrecked my car — laughing," Christi Vergara added.

The display's creator, Shelby Gash, 24, left no room for speculation, proudly confirming, it's "a giant glowing d**k!"

Gash says the display was intended to get a laugh out of neighbors and people who drove by, arguing that the "vibe" of the neighborhood has become a bit "uptight" of late.

"So it's more of a, kind of, orneriness," Gash said.

"People think it's hilarious," she added. "People are stopping in the middle of the night taking photos and laughing. People think it's so much fun. I think there's a lot more laughter than it's bringing out anything uncomfortable."

Funny as it may be, neighbors Marcelo and Christi Vergara agreed, "It's a joke that wears out pretty quick."

"Yeah, and I don't think it's appropriate for little kids," Christi added.

After hearing it may upset families with young children, Gash decided to remove the display. It lasted for just four days.
