Actor claims prayer cured his cancer

Today on "Pure Opelka," Billy Hallowell of FaithWire  and the Church Boys podcast on TheBlaze reported to Mike Opelka a stunning admission actor Val Kilmer made about his faith and health during an Ask Me Anything event on social media site Reddit.

Kilmer, a Christian Scientist, told Reddit users that faith and love healed him of cancer. Hallowell says this admission sheds light on a faith system that people don't know a whole lot about.

Founder Mary Baker Eddy shunned medical treatment in favor of prayer after recovering from an accident in 1866. This is now a defining precept of Christian Science.
