Megyn Kelly has been taking heat from both sides -- is this why?

Megyn Kelly has been taking some heat for her interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, which is slated to air on Sunday. Now the journalist is also being criticized for supposedly low ratings.

On Wednesday’s “Pat & Stu,” Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere objected to the idea that Kelly’s new NBC slot can even be measured by ratings yet since it just started. “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” has only been on the air for two weeks; so far, Kelly has interviewed Russian leader Vladimir Putin and American sportscaster Erin Andrews.

“She’s still done better on Sunday night than they were doing,” Pat countered. He had a theory about where the negative buzz is coming from: “I think part of this hysteria is driven by Drudge [Report] and Trump because he does Trump’s bidding.”

Stu agreed that it’s too soon to know if Kelly’s NBC show will be a ratings success. He praised Kelly’s record as a journalist who tries to be objective and noted that it’s not a quality that makes you popular.

“I think she tries to be generally fair to both sides; I think she comes after both sides sometimes,” Stu said. “And that doesn’t make you a lot of friends.”
