New challenger is hoping to unseat Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan has a new Democratic challenger in Wisconsin, an iron worker and activist named Randy Bryce.

The congressional contender, who goes by @IronStache on Twitter in reference to his signature facial hair, recently released an ad announcing his run. The TV spot highlights Bryce's career as iron worker, his dedication to his home state of Wisconsin and his advocacy for health care.

On Wednesday’s “Pat & Stu,” the guys watched the new ad and explained why some of the best-sounding liberal ideas really just mean taking your hard-earned money from you.

Stu Burguiere pointed out that the Republican Party is lagging way behind on tax and regulation reform as well as the long-promised repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Legislation for tax reform hasn’t even been proposed yet, while Obamacare remains in place more than five months into President Donald Trump’s first term.

It’s not up to government to provide health care to people, Pat Gray asserted. The individual, their family, their church and the local community are responsible, not the government.

“It’s up to each of us,” he said.
