The assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 stunned the nation. The strange and tragic moment in our history continues to inspire books, movies, TV shows ... and conspiracy theories.
Back in 1992, President George H.W. Bush signed the JFK Assassination Records Collection Act into law, which made Oct. 26, 2017 the deadline for declassifying the records related to Kennedy’s assassination. Unless President Donald Trump decides to block the release of around 3,600 files, they are slated to be unsealed in October.
On Thursday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson,” Doc Thompson, Keith Malinak and Jeffy Fisher talked about the potential release of the files and why extra mystery around them only serves to fuel conspiracy theories.
“There are missing files from the ones they’re preparing to release,” Doc explained. While some files were released last month and more are coming, there are still a few in question.
“They say [file No. 5] never existed,” Doc said. “You know how they don’t have a 13th floor sometimes of a building?” he theorized how they could explain the missing file.
“Bill down in accounting thought 5 was a bad number, so he didn’t want to use it,” Jeffy joked.
