Trump should never be left alone with Twitter

How do you solve a problem like @realDonaldTrump?

You can’t, but as recently covered by Politico, President Donald Trump’s handlers at least try to keep his Twitter activity under control.

Trump is famous for tweeting whatever he thinks, whether it’s insane conspiracy theories about other political figures, threats against U.S. allies or disparaging remarks about reporters who write negative stories about him. People close to him try to reduce his time alone and monitor his media consumption so he doesn’t jump on Twitter and impulsively react to news stories.

Trump’s Secret Service detail has struggled to curtail his tweeting, which exposes him to extra danger since the Secret Service can’t possibly monitor every person who interacts with Trump’s tweets.

“He’s always in a meeting; he’s always moved around from place to place,” Stu Burguiere described how Trump’s staffers try to minimize his time online. “The issue is on weekends, he’s at Mar-a-Lago and no one can do anything about it. It's his time, no one steps in, he wants people out of his face. So those are the times where a lot of the more off-topic tweets and such are coming.”

“The bottom line is, he sucks,” Pat Gray summed it up.

“There’s something I really like about how much you don’t like [Trump],” Stu returned.
